Hi--I'm a new member to Liberal Pride. I've been looking in the Jukebox section, and realize that I've got far too many favorite songs to mention. However, I grew up listening to the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and many other rock groups/music of the 1960's. Yet, I'm also an artist, as well as a big movie buff, especially of movie classics of the 1960's and 1970's. My politics, although generally liberal, are somewhat mixed at times, having been tempered somewhat by doses of realism. All of the above having been said, I look forward to corresponding more with everybody here on "Liberal Pride" in the near future.

I've been away far too long — so long, in fact, that I find I must remove the Election 2008 section and place the threads therein to their appropriate categories. Al Franken was finally seated in June. So what brings you to Liberal-Pride.org?

I have been posting on at least a couple of other well-known blogs, and, in the column that points out other blogs that these particular blogs that I've been posting on, the blog "Liberal Pride.org" was mentioned.
Having been posting on the other two blogs for awhile, and being somewhat turned off by constant flaming of people who dissent from the orthodoxy of these particular blogs, plus realizing that I'm really a liberal whose ideology has been tempered over the years by a certain amount of realism, as my posts thus far indicate, imho, and, despite being a big advocate of free speech, want a place where people can disagree civilly, I decided to give liberal-pride.org a try. As long as people are civil towards me, whether they agree with me or not, I'll be civil right back.
Just being honest here.
