UGH. Finals and a host of other matters have kept me out of the loop for far too long. I'm back now; I'm going to spend more time getting back to politics and trying to make things in this country right again. As for college, here's the breakdown of my grades for Fall semester:

Screenwriting: A

Intro to Mass Communication: A

History of Civilization I: B

Beginning Algebra: D

I am especially frustrated by the D in math, because I've never been able to understand algebra and I have, unfortunately, missed some online assignments that might have at least gotten me a low "C" had I been able to get them completed on time. Alas, the instructor decided to change the due dates on some of these and I, being foolish enough to wait until the last minute, missed them. I'll probably have to take the class over again; if I don't, I'll go into the next level of mathematics completely unprepared and shall flunk out of it.

Hey Mike!

I was wondering where you have been. I am pleased that you did quite well although I am saddened to hear that you didn't do well in algebra. Growing up, I never did well in mathematics until I got into high school and I recall one night that I was doing my homework and something "clicked" and I just got better and better and now I can breeze through math as long as it's precalculus. I just wish I lived near you so I could help you to breeze through math. I have been told that I have a gift for tutoring and I have a particular knack for breaking down complex topics and helping to simplify them. My own mother was always very terrible at math and never succeeded beyond arithmetic and I helped her gain the confidence she needed to pass her real estate exam which required some math.

I suspect it's partly because of my inability to understand math beyond arithmetic, partly my excellence with English, and partly because of the professor I had this semester. I'm told people who excel at reading and writing do poorly at math, and vice versa.

No worries Mike. I always had a hard time with math as well. Just keep going to tutoring and keep trying. Plus you did awesome in your other courses. I am taking Medical Term, totally not up my ally. Hey I got that script together for you that we were talking about. Lets meet for coffee after school
